Real-mom Interview – Meet: Sarah

Sara is a beautiful new mom I met on my most successful social media platform to date, Instagram! Her passion for life, health and the simple things in life inspired me to reach out to her. What a wonderful interview. Cheers to you mama, for all of the amazing work you do, too often without celebration.

Tell me about yourself

I am a plant-based mom, trying to build a business while on maternity leave!

I just had my daughter in January of this year and am currently enjoying every minute with her. I run a weekly meal prep service and offer free plant-based diet tips. I enjoy sharing my expericne of being a younger mom still trying to find her path in life , in the hopes of inspiring others!

Did you always want kids? If not, when did that change?

I knew from a young age that I always wanted kids! I just thought that I would have them a bit later in life.

Share your birth story

I was very lucky to have a wonderful water birth at home! The experience was so empowering and by far the most amazing thing I have ever done. Everything went smoothly and I was even able to catch my daughter, as I delivered her!

What’s something that you wish people knew about your daughter?

I wish people knew that she has been plant based since conception and is amazingly healthy!

What’s something that you wish people knew about you.

Something I wish others knew about me; is how hard I work to achieve the goals I set!

What’s the biggest sacrifice of motherhood thus far?

I am very early into motherhood, but I think the biggest sacrifice so far is not having time to ride my horse anymore.

I know these newborn days will fly by, so I am trying to remind myself that I will have time for riding soon enough.

They say it takes a village to raise them, name your tribe

My tribe consists of my Boyfriend (Greg), Daughter (August) and our Dog (Jack)! Our daughter is also lucky to have two sets of grandparents and two sets of great grandparents.

It would be great to show my tribe, how many hours I am putting into working while being a mom.

What’s your favorite book and/or podcast?

I don’t really have a favorite book, but I do enjoy listing to Podcasts. “The Gary Vee Audio Expericne” is my favorite and I get so much from his content!

What values do you hope to instill in your daughter?

I want to pass the knowledge of healthy diet and lifestyle along to my daughter.

I also want to help her find what makes her happy and support her any way I can. Teaching her empathy and compassion are two values I want to help her live by.

What’s the best advice you’ve received about motherhood thus far?

The best advice I have received about motherhood, was from a friend I worked with.

She told me to embrace the large amount of bodily fluids, that will cover the house…. Very very accurate!

What advice do you have for new moms?

My advice to new moms would be to listen to your instincts and don’t overthink things.

Also to understand that your best is better than you think!

Can we follow you on social media?

Absolutely! I’m a fan of instagram. My blog account is @millennial.moming, where I post about my adventures as a new mom. I also have my business account : @Planted.Plates , where I post all kinds of yummy recipes and plant based diet health tips!

Anything you’d like to add?

Thank you for this opportunity 🙂 I hope you and your family are staying healthy through these crazy times ! It was great connecting with you .
